The Łódź Appeals Court on 8 April 2015 issued a final and binding judgment (docket no. I ACa 1472/14) dismissing an appeal brought by the respondent against the Płock Regional Court’s judgment awarding our client the sum of 100 thousand PLN with interest as compensation and 5 thousand PLN with interest for moral damages, as well as reimbursement of the cost of proceedings.

Both judgments rendered in this case influence the scope of liability of individuals engaged in the breeding or usage of an animal which caused damage – even Professor Edward Gniewek, the author of the best-known commentary on the Polish Civil Code, cites the above-mentioned appeals court’s judgment in the latest edition of his commentary.
